What is Cross Processing? |
Cross processing, Xpro or Xprocessing is the procedure of deliberately processing your film in a chemical solution intended for a different type of film. Traditionally, cross processing colour slide film E6 in C-41 process chemicals is most common. However, cross processing can take place in many other forms, such as negative colour print film or positive colour reversal film (E6) in a black and white developer. Colour cross processed photographs show unnatural colours and high contrast. The results of cross processing differ from case to case, as the results are determined by many factors such as the make and type of the film used, the amount of light exposed onto the film and the chemical used to develop the film. There are no rules to this type of photography and it goes hand in hand with lomography, aka lomo click here |
